For the past 8 years, Faces of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, co-founded by Rita Thomas and Karen Lester, has made a profound impact on the lives of local women battling breast cancer. This holiday season, the foundation endeavored to go a step further and provided financial and emotional support to four families, bringing hope and relief during what can often be a challenging time.

Rita and Karen, both deeply connected to the fight against breast cancer, launched Faces of Hope with a vision of lifting the burden for families affected by this devastating disease. Their mission was clear: to provide practical support and a sense of community to those in need.

“We wanted to give families a reason to smile and a reminder that they are not alone,” said founder, Rita Thomas. “Christmas is a time for joy, and we knew we could make a difference by stepping in to help.”

The foundation’s efforts was limited to financial contributions. One mother, who

asked to remain anonymous, shared her gratitude: “This has been the hardest year of my life, but Faces of Hope reminded me that there are people who care. They gave my kids a Christmas we thought we wouldn’t have.”

Thomas states none of this would have been possible without the support of the community and one extraordinary anonymous donor. This significant contribution allowed the foundation to expand its reach and provide even more comprehensive support.

“We are beyond grateful to everyone who continues to support Faces of Hope, especially our anonymous donor, whose generosity was a game-changer for us,” said co-founder Rita Thomas. “Your kindness has not only helped these families but has inspired us to dream even bigger for the future.”

As Faces of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation reflects, the co-founders are already planning ways to grow their impact. They hope to double the number of families they assist next year, ensuring that hope continues to shine bright during the holiday season.
